Bosnia & Herzegovina
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
The EBRD is considering a loan of up to EUR 17 million to the retail company Bingo d.o.o. to support the expansion of the company’s retail network in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and to construct cooling chambers to build up a local fruit and vegetable supply chain. The Project’s transition impact is derived from the expansion of backward linkages with local farmers and cooperatives in the context of the creation of a local fruit and vegetable supply chain. In addition, the Project sets standards for corporate governance and business conduct through the use of state-of-the-art energy efficiency technology. Finally, the Project strengthens competition in the hypermarket segments of Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
